Amedeo Challenge | Donations

If you like the idea of high-quality free medical textbooks, you might wish to contribute to the creation of additional textbooks (see previous donations).

To collect the funds for multiple textbook awards, we will rely on more than 130,000 long-time subscribers to Amedeo and on all those who were satisfied with our textbooks (HIV Medicine, Influenza Report) or other web services (see the complete list at Flying Publisher). In a perfect world, each person would donate 10 Euro - now or over the next months - and we would soon find more than 100 free medical textbooks on the Internet.

These are the rules: as soon as the donations exceed 12,500 Euro, the topic that has accumulated the most preferences (see the list of textbooks in the right column) will be selected for the next award (see current awards).

The donation counter will then be reset to zero, and the fundraising will continue until the 12,500 Euro threshold is once again reached. The second topic is selected for the next award on the basis of the preferences of rounds 1 and 2; the counter reset to zero again, and so on.

Please note that all donations are entirely (100%) distributed among the editors and authors of the winning teams (see Rules and Conditions). The Amedeo Team (www.Amedeo.com) will charge no fee for the management of the Amedeo Challenge website and the associated administrative workload.

If you donate, please think about involving colleagues and friends in the project. 12,500 Euro is a lot of money for one person, but a ridiculous amount of money if divided among many. The return on the investment is impressive: in a single year, free medical textbooks (value: >50 Euro) are downloaded up to 100,000 times. 12,500 Euro are sufficient to create a value of more than 5 million Euro!

I know, that sounds like Utopia. However, we rarely have the opportunity to shape the world in which we live. This might be one of those moments.
